"Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry" Main Character Movie Castings

Keke Palmer will be playing the roll of Cassie Logan. The main character and narator. She is an african american girl who is 11 yrs old and trying to figure out where she stands in the world during the fall of October 1933.


denzel Washington will be playing the part of Mr. Logan. He is the father who works on the railroad in order to keep thier land. He is trying to teach his kids how to survive and what's right and wrong and at the same time trying not to lose the land.


Whoopi Goldberg will be playing the part of Mrs. Logan. She is a school teacher. She is very caring towards other people. She tries to keep the evil part of the world from her children. She loses her job and it's harder to pay the bills with little money so they might have to sell it.


John Travolta plays the part of Mr. Wallace who is a racist white man who is making the life of the Logans as bad as possible. He also is trying to steal their land.


Chris Brown plays the part of Stacey who is T.J.'s best friend. He is bery loyal and is there for T.J. even when they have fights he is there for him and backing him up.
Bow Wow plays the part of Stacey's best friend. T.J. isn't always the most loyal or trustful friend but you grow to love him throughout the movie. But T.J. doesn't really see what a great friend Staey is and betray the Logan family. And when T.J. gets into trouble he starts wondering if Stacey will be there for him or will he just walk away when he'll need him the most.


Amanda Bynes plays the part of Ms. Jean-Louise Wallace who is a stuck up 12 year old. She later causes a big fight/argument between Cassie Logan.


Maya Angelou plays the part of the grandmother who is just like her daughter Mrs. Logan. She encounters a tough decision when Cassie and Ms. Jean-Louise get into a dispute.


Tyrese plays the part of Mr.Mitchell who is hired by Mr. Logan to look after his family while he is away on the railroads. He saves the kids from getting into trouble a couple of times and helps keep a look out for the watch-men.


T.I.plays the part of Uncle Hammer who is Mr. Logan's brother. He is very short tempered when he hears what the white men do the black folks in the community. When he hears what happened to Cassie he goes out and looks for Mr. Wallace.

THE WORST MOMENT

I nominate the scene where T.J. apologizes to the Logan family for telling Mr. Wallace that Mrs. Logan was a bad teacher and that she doesn't teach what she should be teaching. And Stacey didn't forgive him and so T.J. said that he didn't need him anyway and he got other friends that are better.
I nominated this as the worst scene because it's the saddest in my opinion because T.J. knows that he needs Stacey and the same goes for Stacey but since they're boys they won't admit to each other that they need one another which I think is sad because T.J. doesn't really have other friends because he's not very loyal or trustful, and Stacey is the only one who puts up with that. Not even T.J.'s parents can put up with him!!!!! Then when T.J. gets in some serious trouble becauses he starts hanging out with the two white boys R.W. and Melvin Wallace who are up to no good and always getting into trouble.

WHAT DO YOU THINK: WHAT IF YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIEND BETRAYED YOU? WOULD YOU HELP THEM IF THEY ASK FOR IT OR WOULD YOU JUST WALK OFF? I PRETTY SURE THAT I WOULD HELP THEM.

YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T STAY MAD AT SOMEONE FOR EVER!!!!!

THE BEST MOMENT

I nominate the scene where Cassie tells the grocery store clerk to come over and finish their grocery list because they were there first and said that they shouldn't have to wait until the white people were done and that they could wait.
I nominate this scene for the BEST moment because it shows how brave Cassie was for sticking up for herself and ger race. Because she didn't want to have to wait in line after the white people because she was there first and so she thought that it wasn't fair that they had to be last.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I DON'T THINK I COULD'VE DONE WHAT SHE DID THAT WAS AWFULLY BRAVE TO SAY THAT TO A OLDER WHITE MAN IN THE 1930'S IF YOU WERE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN. NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT SHE DID IF THEY KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THEM. WOULD YOU DO WHAT SHE DID?

THEN AND NOW

So WHAT would YOU do IF you were an AFRICAN american man? Women? Boy? Girl? In the 1930's? Life most definitely wouldn't be like it is today, that's for sure. I just got done reading the book " Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry." It's a story about a young girl named Cassie who lives in the south and has to deal with the racial problems. I mean do you know any eleven year old girl that would want to live with the fact that she's black so therefore she doesn't have: clothes that are too small, school books that are tattered, only friends within her race, wondering why she can't ride the bus to school so instead she walks? Well do YOU? I don't either, but this was the life that Cassie has to go through and she doesn't even know WHY?
